Fly Tying & Yoga Weekend Retreat
$200 (all inclusive)

Fly girls,

Southern Brookies will be hosting a fly tying and yoga retreat Saturday, April 1 –2.  No prior experience is necessary.  The class will begin on Saturday morning with hands on instruction in fly tying.  You will learn about the basic tools, the materials and techniques for creating realistic imitations that are proven to catch trout.  During the session you will tie 3 different patterns that are commonly used  on the Caney Fork River. All equipment and materials are provided for your use.

We will break for a light and healthy lunch before moving into our afternoon session “Gentle Yoga.”  This session is appropriate for all levels of experience (even none), all ages and body types.

The session will begin with an introductory discussion on the practice of yoga and how it can positively impact your life.  We will move into a two hour, gentle session of beginning stretches and poses.  Frequent breaks to answer questions and to review and demonstrate correct positioning will be incorporated.

The day’s activities will be followed by a relaxing evening around the camp fire and a delicious dinner.  The weekend includes an overnight stay in trout themed, vintage, campers, complete with fresh linens.

Sunday morning will begin with hot coffee as we leisurely start the day. New yoga skills will be put into action as we spend an hour moving through the morning.

A light breakfast will be provided following this session.  Guests are welcome to stay through the afternoon and enjoy the river, fishing, testing out new flies or simply relaxing.

Robin Haynes has been teaching a gentle style of yoga in Nashville for 17 years, focusing on alignment, strength and flexibility.  She likes to share a practice that could be done anywhere, without equipment.
